Detroit Bird Alliance Hosts the Very First Pheasant Flock Party!

In celebration of Detroit’s most charismatic avian resident, Detroit Bird Alliance is teaming up with Brewery Faisan to host the first ever is hosting a full-day festival celebrating the Ring-necked Pheasant. The festival is inspired by NYC’s Pigeon Fest and offers FREE public programming including pheasant themed activities, art workshops, a Pheasant Impersonation Parade, and more!

Pheasant Flock Party also features organizations engaged in work around birds, nature, and urban wildlife. They will share information about their important work and engage attendees in hands-on activities.

Pheasant Flock Party brings together bird enthusiasts, artists, musicians, conservationists, educators, and the public to play and learn together, while exploring art and nature in the urban landscape.

Pheasant Flock Party is about having fun, building community, and of course BIRDS!

This family friendly events welcome everyone.

Here is a list of what we have planned so far:

Main Stage Fun: One of the best ways we know how to inspire people to care about birds and the environement we share is to have fun together!

  • BIrd Impersonation Pageant, this means YOU! Please come dressed as your favorite bird! Rachel Lutz - owner of the Peacock Room will be the judge (prizes awarded!)

  • Live Music

  • Crow Off (prizes awarded!)

  • Pheasant Strut-Dance

  • Bird Tattoo Contest (prizes awarded!)

  • Food Trucks

  • Evening Pheasant Walk

  • Fabio, our Pheasant mascot, will have a phabulous day, roaming the Flock Party!

Discovery: We’ve invited others to share more information about their urban nature and nature programs. There will be tabling and hands-on activities. Here is a list of current participants:
